**Lila and the Day with Mr. Edison**
Once upon a time in Willow Creek Elementary School, Lila sat in her science class, doodling in her notebook. She loved science but wished it could be more exciting. Little did she know, today was going to be far from ordinary.
"Class, we have a special guest," announced Mrs. Brown, their usual teacher. "Meet Mr. Thomas Edison, your science teacher for the day!"
A man with wild white hair and twinkling eyes walked in. He wore a suit with a bow tie and carried a mysterious black bag. "Hello, young scientists!" he greeted, his voice warm and cheerful. Lila's eyes widened. Was this the Thomas Edison she read about in her books?
Mr. Edison wasted no time. He took out small light bulbs from his bag and asked, "Who wants to make their own light bulb glow?" Lila's hand shot up like a rocket.
Mr. Edison showed the class how to connect wires to tiny batteries. Lila and her friends worked together, carefully following his instructions. Suddenly, her light bulb flickered, then shone brightly! "Wow!" she exclaimed, her face lighting up just like the bulb.
Next, they built a phonograph using cups and needles. Lila was amazed when she heard the scratchy sound of her own voice playing back. "This is like a magic machine!" she giggled.
The day flew by with experiments and laughter. Lila learned that science wasn't just about reading books; it was about exploring and discovering.
As the bell rang, Mr. Edison handed each student a little notebook. "Fill this with your ideas," he said, smiling. "You never know what wonders you might invent."
Lila tucked the notebook into her backpack, feeling inspired and excited. Science was now her favorite subject, all thanks to a brilliant day with Mr. Edison.
